There are thousands of freight forwarders in China, many act as link between the shipper and
the nvocc or the shipping line. Unless they hold the class A licence they are limited to perfoming Chinese based
activities. Usually the relationship between the shipper and his forwarding agent in China is very strong and sometimes difficulties can be caused
when buyers use their own freight forwarder instead of the supplier's.
We recommend that UK buyers use FOB terms of shipment which will allow them to control the method of freight but the supplier can still use
his forwarder for trucking and customs clearance.
